Five signs a cozy game will actually relax you

Five signs a cozy game will actually relax you

I love a cozy game, but I've been burned by titles that dress up an aggressive timer system in soft colors and call it relaxing. There's a difference between calm and quietly demanding.

First sign: no fail state. Lantern Hollow lets you wander with zero pressure, and that's the whole vibe. Second: timers you can ignore. If the game guilts you for not logging in, it's not cozy, it's a job.

Third, the audio matters more than people admit. A good ambient soundtrack does most of the relaxing for you. Fourth, short sessions should feel complete. Fifth, the art should be something you'd happily stare at.

Harbor & Home hits most of these, though its late-game timers push it toward the demanding end. When you're picking a wind-down game, trust the vibe over the marketing screenshots.
