Big Bass Drop

Big Bass Drop is one of those games I picked up expecting five minutes and lost an hour to. The core loop is timing: you tap to cast, hold to let the line sink, and release right as the on-screen marker hits the sweet spot. Get the timing clean and the whole thing hums along like a rhythm game with a fishing coat of paint.

Controls are entirely one-thumb, which makes it perfect for a commute. There's a light progression where each new spot introduces trickier patterns — deeper water means longer waits and tighter windows. The audio design deserves a mention too, because the little plink when you nail a perfect catch is weirdly satisfying and keeps you chasing that feeling.

What stops it short of greatness is variety; after a while the patterns start to rhyme. But as a pick-up-and-play arcade title, it's genuinely charming, and I kept coming back to it far longer than I meant to.
